Our Life

I know it's been awhile since I have posted anything. We have been busy with all our many activities: school, church, work, coops, and on top of that Scott has been home since before Thanksgiving.

Yesterday Scott finally started that project that he was promised before Thanksgiving. It is a short one, only about three months.

With the economic out look of our country right now Scott has been searching out job options outside of the US. EE Reed has not been able to pick up any new work since they picked up the project Scott started yesterday, that was in November. Scott applied for and has received his passport. He is looking for Reed to do a big layoff, maybe as soon as March 15th which is when they usually pass out annual bonuses. We are trusting the Lord, we know he promises to take care of us but we are also looking at our options for future employment.

I know you all know that work all over the US has almost taken a halt, but they are still building strong in the Middle East. Please be praying for God to provide wisdom in our decision making. We are praying for each of you as we know there are hard times ahead for all of us. Love you!

Showcase

Showcase 2009

The goal of Showcase each year is to provide our young people with an environment where they can share their special interests and talents with all of our LAF families.

Jed made a model of an Anderson Shelter from WWII. He really enjoyed this little venture. He sat with his project the entire 2 hours and shared all he knows about them.

Time off

While Scott has had some time off he has been getting some work done around the house. He has painted all the trim in the living area and kitchen. He has also complete the painting of the cabinets. They look much better. He is also planning to replace the flooring in the kitchen, and removing the wallpaper so we can paint.

December 2008

December is a crazy month in the Wingard House Hold.

December 10th Joshua turned 17! It is so hard to believe that I have a 17 year old. Joshua is working at ACE Hardware just a few blocks away. He likes it fairly well. Scott likes that he gets to use Joshua's employee discount. :) Josh was planning on having his girlfriend and a couple either friends over for dinner on his birthday but it ended up just being one friend. (He has since broken up with Kaylee and replaced her with Victoria/ 'Tory' a girl he works with.)

December 15th Trevor turned 15. At 15 Trev is as big as his daddy within 3 pounds and has a full beard like a man. Trev is not quite as easy going as he used to be, I think it's all that testosterone surging through his body. He doesn't care much for school however I think he enjoys history and science. He doesn't have a clue what he wants to be when he grows up. Trevor had about 10 kids over for his birthday. He got three or four pairs of ear buds. He's known for going through the headphones.

Jedidiah turned 8 and December 19. My baby is not a baby anymore. If you ask him he would tell you he can't read, but he can sound out anything if would just try. He doesn't care much for school either, he would much rather be playing with his toys.

The last two week, the week of Christmas and New Year, Scott has been working on painting our kitchen cabinets. What a mess! But they are going to be so much nicer when he gets them done. I'll post pictures when he's finished.

Love you all!
Happy New Year!
2009? WOW!

Georgia pix

Everyone asked about you all. It was nice to see Lynn and her kids. We haven't seen them for 3 or 4 years. Wendell and Lamar were in Kansas hunting so we got to see Lamar too. Scott enjoyed seeing many of his cousins for the first time in 16 years.
