Married with Child

Joshua and Tory married on January 22nd, 2010. The marriage was preformed by a friend of ours at church who is a prison chaplin. It was just the three of them plus another friend from church who snuck in to take a few pictures. She took them for a photo shoot at a local park after the ceremony. I'm still waiting for my cd of the photos but I'll be mailing you some soon.

Nathan Christopher Wingard was born March 12, 2010 at 12:05 am by C-section. He weighed in at 7 lb. 6 oz and was 18 inches long. He spent two days under a lamp at the hospital because they thought he might be jaundice. He is a doll. I usually get to hold and tend him for a couple hours a day to give Tory a chance to shower and do other things. He seems to be a bit of a night owl, although we don't hear him. We are all smitten with him.

A date is set

Josh informed me yesterday that there plan is to buy their marriage license on January 15. We are giving them a baby shower on the 16th. They plan to get married on January 22nd. I've spent the day sorting, purging and reorganizing to make room for Tory and the baby. Josh and Tory have spent her 18th birthday (today) packing up her room. Things are happening fast here, I'll have a daughter in law in two weeks and a grand son in about 8 weeks.

Oh yeah, they've settled on Nathan for a first name and possibly Scott for the middle name. Nathan Scott Wingard.... sounds nice to me.

Engagement

Josh proposed to Tory on Christmas Eve. He took her to Galveston to celebrate their one year anniversary. ;) They went to Moody Gardens to a dinner show. She said Yes, though Josh said she paused a bit longer than he expected and it made him a bit uncomfortable. As they walked back to his truck she told him she was thinking about saying NO just to psych him out. That's a girl with a personality. Good thing, she'll need one to be apart of this crazy family of boys. So, I'm finally getting the daughter I've always wanted and I couldn't ask for a better one.

18 week pictures

It was amazing to watch the video of the sonagram. That little guy was really working his jaw, looked like he was trying to suck his thumb or his fingers.

It's a boy!!!

I got a call from JOsh a while ago. It's a boy, they are so excited, they were both wanting a boy. I'm posting the picture from the 12 week sonigram. I'll post the new ones and maybe video later.

New Addition

Jed had planned to spend a week or two at Grandpa and Grandma Wingard's house this summer. We made the long trek to GA to drop him off only to find out that Wendell needed to have a stint put in. He was still welcome to stay but he would have to spend 2 days with granny alone, gasp! And he would have to stay for three weeks. He said thanks but no thanks.

One reason Jed loves to go to Grandpa Wingards is because of his dog Jack. Jack was one of grandpa's German shepherds. Jack got heart worms and died about 5 days before Jed was supposed to get there so grandpa hunted down and bought a German shepherd pup for Jed. He is adorable. I knew as soon as I saw him that we couldn't leave him. Jed named him lil' Jack. ; )

It's very much like having a baby in the house. Yes, he is going to be a house dog. He's doing much better at night. The first 4 days he was here he cried half the night because he didn't want to be in the kennel. He was quiet through the night last night, now if we can just get him potty trained.
